Day 21: Tsitsikamma Backpackers & the Bloukrans Bridge

Last night was a celebration, we loved every moment of Island Vibe Backpackers but had to move on to our next adventure. My streak to quit drinking has come to an end, trying new shots at the bar and sticking to the classic Black Label makes it tough not to let loose. Two shots in particular were a favorite last night at the Island Vibe Backpackers bar – Fatboy shots (which I never really found out what was in it but I believe it was 80% rum and Amarula, my tongue was numb after it) and Blowjobs. Stefano, our new Italian friend tried his hardest to take this chick shot at the bar and spit it up everywhere …. Haha!

The Baz Bus rides have been relatively short and enjoyable for us lately. Between Port Elizabeth and Cape Town we have a handful of hostels we are stopping at so it makes each ride a lot shorter. Still making great friends though!

We arrived in Storms River around 11:00am this morning which gave us ample time to check the place out and decide what we wanted to do for the day. Well, there was really no deciding- I was doing the bungee jump, no ifs, ands or buts.

Bloukrans Bridge located in Bloukrans, South Africa (just outside of Tsitsikamma) is the world’s highest bungee on a bridge – 216m.

I was in heaven end of story.

This bungee is an absolute must do if you are going to South Africa. I now have 3 certificates – Drakensberg Canopy Tour, Durban Bungee Swing and the Bloukrans Bridge Bungee! 🙂 Officially fearless.

It a lot of emotional energy to give up for one day so we decided to relax for the day, show our friends my fearless video from Face Adrenalin South Africa and blog some more! OH, and also finally try Potjie (a traditional South African dish).

We’re only spending one night in Storms River atTsitsikamma Backpackers due to time but if you love hiking, tubing, and adrenalin rushes…. This is a MUST visit!
