The Mercedes-Benz Museum is definitely not your typical museum, After wandering my way through this incredible museum, I can definitely rank it up there in my favourite top 5 museum visits of all time! The funny thing is that I really don’t have much interest in cars. I have no drive for speed or design and I certainly don’t have any desire to purchase a car way out of my price range. Yet, somehow after visiting the Mercedes-Benz Museum I came out with a new appreciation for the brand and an even greater appreciation for the men behind the brand.
This museum located in Stuttgart, Germany is the only one in the world which documents the Mercedes-Benz history from day 1 to the present day. It’s unique architecture modelled into a double helix, brings you straight to the top of the building and you follow winding museum halls down to the bottom towards your departure. With over 700,000 visitors per year and over 160 different vehicles on display, it is no wonder I was in car heaven at Germany’s largest automobile museum.
Though the audio guided tour usually takes just over one hour to complete, I stayed well over two hours engaging in anything I possibly could – who would of guessed, me a car lover? I even joined in on a race car simulator which brought you on an incredible journey through the history of the Mercedes-Benz race cars.
It can’t be explained so much through words as it can through pictures, so take a look and I hope you enjoy my photographs!
