Perhaps it is just me, but I have created a bucket list and right there at the top is #1: Visit the Seven Wonders of the World. There is always so much debate around what the REAL actual Seven Wonders of the World are. I took it upon myself to do a little research and come up with the main 4 lists. When I was younger I had no idea that there were different lists of the actual seven wonders. Shouldn’t there just be 7 wonders and that’s that?
Looks like I have a lot more traveling to do if I want to reach out to them all! Here is the top 4 lists: The Natural, The New, The Modern and The Ancient.
The Natural Seven Wonders of the World
- Grand Canyon
- Great Barrier Reef
- Harbor of Rio de Janeiro
- Mount Everest
- The Northern Lights
- Paricutin Volcano
- Victoria Falls
The New Seven Wonders of the World
- The Great Wall of China
- Christ the Redeemer Statue
- Machu Picchu
- Chichen Itza
- The Roman Colosseum
- Taj Majal
- Petra
The Seven Wonders of the Modern World
- Channel Tunnel
- CN Tower
- Netherlands North Sea Protection Works
- Panama Canal
- Itaipu Dam
- Golden Gate Bridge
- Empire State Building
The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World
- Great Pyramid of Giza
- Hanging Gardens of Babylon
- Temple of Artemis
- Statue of Zeus
- Mausoleum at Halicarnassus
- Colossus at Rhodes
- Lighthouse of Alexandria
So which one is the true, real, original Seven Wonders of the World? The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World is the first and original list… perhaps a great place to start?
There are many more other wonders of the world, and many more lists (like the underwater world or the industrial world), but this blog would be far too long if we mention all the others. The 4 listed are the top 4 most common lists that people seem to go to when planning their bucket list of visiting each wonder of the world, but which one?
That is up to you to decide! 🙂
