If you are an adrenaline junkie like me, chances are you have probably done both skydiving and bungee jumping. During my travels, I had the chance to go skydiving in Florida, bungee jump off the tallest bridge in the world in Titsikamma, South Africa and bungee swing off the tallest football stadium in the world in Durban, South Africa.
Which one would I suggest if you haven’t done either yet??
I think it really depends on your level of fear. I thought that I was fearless, I jump off cliffs like its my day job up at the cottage, I jumped out of an airplane 14,000 feet in the air and I find heights everywhere I go. When I originally asked myself which one is more terrifying and exhilarating, skydiving or bungee jumping? I knew the answer was skydiving without a doubt. Not attached to a rope at the top, jumping thousands of feet in the air out of an airplane…. it had to be skydiving.
Turns out, I was very wrong! I am a huge adrenaline junkie and never did I ever think that bungee jumping would absolutely terrify me. Don’t get me wrong, I had a blast but I wouldn’t ever do it again. Being able to see what was beneath me was what freaked me out the most. Where skydiving you have often around a 60 second free fall through majestical clouds and then you can enjoy the rest of your decent slowly, bungee jumping is a straight jump down and then a backlash with another huge drop. You don’t get to enjoy the sights and sounds in the air if your eyes are closed the entire time. My fearless self couldn’t even open my eyes for one second while free-falling off the tallest bungee jump bridge in the world.
I would love to hear what you guys think about the two, what scares you the most? Would you ever do it? What is your favourite?
