I get it, I’m a travel blogger – it’s my job to travel the world while focusing on a certain niche. So why should you when all you need is relaxation and adventure? Vacation is just that… a vacation. I am the last person to judge you when you tell me ‘I just want to forget about everything, jump on a plane and take a breather for a while.’ I’m not even going to push you to travel sustainably, but simply educate you on the possibilities of travelling sustainably at ease.
Mostar

In Mostar, Bosnia I Herzegovina you can rest assure that you can choose any kind of trip you’d like and they’ll have it for you in one neat package. So let me tell you a little story about my time in Mostar.

There is this company… kind of like the powerhouse of all Mostar travel. They have accommodations, tours, information hotspots and a whole ton of fun to offer travellers as they come through. You can be 15 and just starting your explorations or 80 and still embracing life to the fullest.

This magical company is called iHouse Travel.

I had actually met the owner at ITB Berlin, a travel conference in Germany and decided that Mostar was one place I couldn’t miss out on.

To give you a better picture of how our travel adventures went while in Mostar, I’ll break it down. Though don’t forget this was all the same company, the same person and the same wonderful experience right the way through. The reason I want to explain this to you is to show you two things:

  1. You can travel at ease
  2. While still being sustainable

Accommodations

Like I mentioned whether you’re 15 or 80, they’ve always got the perfect spot for you to stay. There are a few styles of personal apartments with en-suite bathrooms, double beds, cable television, air conditioning and prime locations. There are also hostels for the budget travellers who don’t mind making a few friends while on vacation. My partner and I had stayed in the apartments right beside the info point next to the old bridge, as the hostel was only days away from their grand opening. However, I was lucky enough to explore the hostel the day before departure and promise to you that you’re going to love it.

Tours

I wish I could have stayed in Mostar for a few more weeks to exhaust iHouse Travel and take on every tour they could have possibly mentioned. I mean hey, I could have written about them and shared them with you… but realistically it doesn’t take a blogger to prove that Miran’s tours are awesome. Before arriving in Mostar, I took a little time to review the accommodations, tours, etc. and not once did I find a negative comment. Even after our first tour in Mostar a couple of the travellers with us decided to book on the spot another tour for the following day.

I heard them walk away satisfied saying to each other “Hey, if today was awesome… why not have another awesome day tomorrow?!” It was pretty cute…

I managed to get in a couple awesome tours while I was there.

These were my favourites after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and checking out the other tours they offered, but there are so many other customizable trips that they offer as well.

  • Daily City Tours
  • Paragliding Tours
  • Tito’s Bunker Tours
  • River Safaris
  • Hiking Tours
  • Herzegovina Wine Tours
  • and many more

Information Hotspot

A tour agency, with hostels, apartments, tours galore and an information point… they do exist. I think this is hand down my favourite part about it all. This is what makes the ease of travel so damn easy when visiting Mostar. You arrive, you check it, you book your tours and then without question you can ask anything and everything you want about the city and iHouse Travel has the information… I mean they have to; they’re also a travel agency. Book you bus to get there, your bus to the airport, your train into Serbia, your rental car into Croatia… literally whatever you want and the staff of iHouse Travel will have it ready for you.

Mostar

It’s exhausting while travelling the globe to find the right people to trust and getting the right prices. Most people tend to look toward one person and then trust that person with their life when it comes to helping plan the remainder of the trip. When you have a package deal with iHouse, you really can’t go wrong. Do I sound like I’m promoting too much? I’m sorry… I write with passion and I share with you all what I love (or really dislike). Yes, I was invited on behalf of iHouse Travel, but by no means does that alter the words that I write on my blog. There are some organizations that offer me the world in which I don’t write about… there are some… in this case… that I choose to write about because I was so thoroughly impressed with the services that they offer.

Here’s a little view into our Mostar trip.

Disclosure: Give for Granted was kindly hosted by iHouse Travel on a three day stay in Mostar including room and board. Though as always, thoughts and words are my own.
