To be completely honest, I didn’t think that Nepal even offered rooms and suites quite like the Terai Suite at the Shaligram Hotel. I am aware that larger hotel corporations like the Shangri La and the Hilton Hotel offer quality rooms no matter where in the world you are, however I didn’t know that local hotels would offer the same quality if not better. The Terai Suite is a place where I could settle down permanently. It is comforting and spacious with Nepali designed features that still provide you a beautiful and modern space.

Size of Terai Suite

Well, considering this is the biggest hotel room I have ever stayed in, I can quite confidently say that the Terai Suite was extremely spacious and large enough for the entire family. Sleeping 3 comfortably, along with two large couches and 4 large rooms to relax in, the size really couldn’t have been more perfect.

Bed in the Terai Suite

So comfortable! I had my own queen size bed and a spare bed (if I had of had guests staying with me). The pillows were brand new and freshly plumped which I couldn’t use to sleep, but depending on what you like they may have been perfect. The sheets were fresh, clean and white. With two end tables and a plug to charge my phone while I sleep, the bed size and location was wonderful.

Bathing Facilities

Your basic hotel facilities were offered in the Terai Suite. A bathtub/shower with comfortable seating area, large mirror and sink space. The water quality was much better in the Terai Suite than it was in the Garden Suite and the JUDDHA-VILLA.

Common Area

I spent the night watching an awful movie on my flat screen tv but was far too comfortable to move. With my spare blankets and pillow I made the perfect ‘movie watching bed’ in front of the tv. I don’t always spend much time in common areas unless I’m really craving some tv or reading (or if it’s where the wifi is), but this space was calling my name!

Terai Suite

Overall, I definitely think the Terai Suite is worth a stay while in Nepal. After speaking to other guests in the hotel though, I found out that booking a suite for one month versus one night is much different. I would recommend the Terai Suite to anyone with a larger family looking for some space and/or anyone looking to spend a longer period of time in Patan. It’s actually worth your money to stay for a month in this suite rather than for a week or two.
